New Game! Pokemon Pokopia!

I actually do not play sandbox games, so this is more or less a first for me for the genre

But I hear good things about it, so definitely looking forward to it. Also, one of my favorite Pokemon is Alakazam and according to Serebii, he shows up

And yes, looking forward to Pokemon Champions too

 

New Game! Pokemon Legends: ZA!

Dang, over half a year since my last article. But it kinda really is just that. There haven't really been any games I wanted to buy. Nintendo was saving their power for the Switch 2, so Nintendo wasn't releasing much either. Spending my time getting back into eroge, kinda continuing playing a few gacha games, though not spending as much money or time.
Since I'm not buying Fire Emblem anymore, Langrisser Mobile and Sword of Convallaria have done good to scratch my SRPG itch.

But here I am, with a Switch 2 and Mario Kart World. Forgot to make an article about that. And now my 2nd Switch 2 game, Pokemon Legends ZA. Of course, as a Pokemon fan. I actually used a catalog ticket to buy the Switch version, then payed for the upgrade.

The unique gameplay surprisingly works, and with the new format of move speed and evasion, it really shakes up what moves are strong or weak.

And as you can see, loving the customization. Sucks that there still are no real skirts, but hey, I can do hotpants too. I have a foot fetish, so obviously going to give my protagonist leggings. I was looking for straight, long black hair, but they only had long curly hair, so I chose ponytail instead for now. Kawaii 

Pokemon Crystal: Complete!

Phew, there goes one of the games I bought doing the ending of the 3DS EShop (though Pokemon Crystal wasn't discounted)

It definitely was refreshing to play an older game, but you can really feel the lack of flexibility in the movesets and all. No TM and Move-tutor-only Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt and evolution stones are not generally available until after you beat the Elite Four, so my Magneton was stuck using Thundershock for so long.

Pokemon Violet: Completed and Thoughts!

 Of course, this is Pokemon, so there isn't really an "end", with all the Pokemon catching and raising and all. But I've completed the story and caught the legendaries and I've seen the substories as well, so I just wanted to give my thoughts on the game.

Honestly not too sure what type of screenshot to use, since I missed the opportunity to take a picture of the ending credits, so I'm gonna leave it imageless this time.

Currently in Middle of Playing Pokemon Violet!

It's been 3 months since my last post, so I just wanted to note I am currently playing the new Pokemon. Haven't finished the story yet, since I also enjoy watching other people play and stuff, but I think I have my final party ready. Golduck just because he is the only Shiny I have found so far.

Also, man, I got the pantyhose but really wish there were cuter options for the rest. It's obvious from the other characters in the game that not wearing the default school uniform is allowed.

Pokemon Green (JP) Complete!

 I don't think I really need to say anything about such an old game, but it was fun to play in all of its broken balance glory. For instance, healing a burned Pokemon does not reverse the Atk reduction.

And one glitch I encountered way too often was the "Accuracy 100% move occasionally misses"

But overall, a refreshing, fun game. Also the first time in my life I caught Tauros or Kangaskhan in the Safari Zone, so cool there too. Really wanted to do the whole Tauros Hyper Beam spamming that was famous in Gen 1.

Gameplay time from Start to Beating Elite Four was 17+ hours. Didn't level grind, though the game is pretty easy with even the hardest enemies having bad move sets and stuff. I was 15+ levels lower than the opponent by the time I got to the final Rival battle.

Also, the Item Box is waaaay too small in this Gen. If you don't use the TMs, both the box and your pouch will be full by end game.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus - Complete + Thoughts!

I didn't make a post on when I got the game, but yeah, bought and went and completed it. Caught all of the Pokemon and then also caught Arceus. Getting all 10 stars is a bit too much of a grind though, so I won't do that.

Oh, and I'm just gonna say it here, but...

XENOBLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADE!

Pokemon Sword (and Shield) Main Story Complete + Thoughts

Yes, I know there is still a lot to do post-game, but most of it is just the usual stuff, like competitive breeding and training and battling.
Playtime is around 20 hours.
I chose Sword, BTW, because you get Bea instead of the Shy Guy. Frankly, there isn't really much point picking the version based off the Pokemon that appear, since you are gonna trade and get all of them anyways.

Pokemon!

Man, it is finally here. I was kinda worried the characters would look too deformed/chibi, since Gamefreaks and not Genius was making the game, but it actually looks pretty good.
I used one of my Nintendo Tickets, BTW. I still have one left. I originally planned to use it on Astral Chain, but I ended up getting into Mary Skelter.
As for Mary Skelter, busy grinding and grinding for the final boss...

Oh, and I got Pokemon Sword. Why?
Dude, in Pokemon Shield, you get a shyguy... boy as a gym leader, and in Pokemon Sword, you get a dark-skinned girl.
...Is this even a choice?

Pokemon Ultra Sun: Main Story Complete! + A few thoughts on Story

Yeah, I only just finished it. I recently couldn't play Xenoblade, so I focused the time on Pokemon instead.
So, my party when I beat the game and then a few thoughts on the changes to the story in Ultra.

Yeah, I clearly don't have the time...
So I'm working mainly on Megami Tensei Deep Strange Journey. Sub-ing the new game.
And then... Xenoblade 2 comes out...
Oh boy...

And yeah, it's obviously Pokemon. I got Ultra Sun because I bought Moon before.

Pokemon Blue: Complete!

Well, I can finally take that one off my To Do list.

I want to finish FE: Thracia and start on Corpse Party or Stardust Amazoness.

Anyways, a few thoughts, final team, play time below...

Pokemon Moon: 6th, 7th Shinies

And FINALLY, I have bred at least one of every new Pokemon. Of course, if there are different available movesets, then I bred more than one of a Pokemon. For instance, I raised two Gumshoos. One for Strong Jaw and one for Stakeout. Five Kommo-os, special attacker, Dragon Dance x 2 (different Speed EVs), Belly Drum, Reversal.
I try to do that for every Pokemon and have done that for every Pokemon up until now.

And upon reaching this point, I encountered two more Shinies!

And I think that posting more than one images makes the post too big without a "Read More" bar, so I'll put this one under it.

Pokemon Moon: 3rd, 4th, 5th Shinies

The Shinies I found since my previous Pokemon post. Exeggcute was hatched while under Masuda Method and the other two were found during normal breeding. They all had the right natures, so it was only a matter of leveling them to 100 and using Hyper Training to get them set for competitive battling.
And yes, they are all in Beast Balls because I like the visuals and catched every Pokemon possible in Beast Balls for breeding purposes. And yes, it was a nightmare trying to catch some Pokemon.

Pokemon Sun/Moon Battle Videos

Storage of my uploaded battle videos for Pokemon Moon
This will allow me to keep my storage (in-game) clean while keeping track of videos, if I have time and want to re-watch them.
I don't know exactly how long battle videos last after being uploaded, so there eventually might be dead links? or whatever happens when a battle video number expires, if it does.
EDIT: So apparently, you can only upload 10 videos at a time. Which totally sucks and drains some of my motivation in even battling. And it's coupled with the loss of motivation from seeing the exact same Pokemon every other time. Anyhow, I'm thinking about moving onto another game instead of bothering to breed one of every Alola Pokemon like I originally intended to.

Long blonde hair + blue eyes + black kneesocks? Totally waifu material. Pink is a cute touch. I thought about lipstick, but it honestly didn't really match, so I gave up on that idea.
And don't look at me like a weirdo for saying this. A guy needs eyecandy while spending hours riding a bull hatching eggs and all that fun fun stuff.

Pokemon Moon: 2nd Shiny + A comment on PokeBank

The whole thing about PokeBank will be after the "Read More" line, since it is more or less just complaining.

So anyways, I was about to go hunt for a Hidden Ability Rockruff. I had a Synchronize Adamant Kadabra at the front of my party. But the first Pokemon to appear... was a Shiny Machop. Huh. Greed Sensors.
 

So yeah, thanks to Kadabra, the nature was Adamant. And as far as Sun and Moon goes, that (and maybe gender) is all you need. Because thanks to Hyper Training, it doesn't matter what the IVs are. Thanks to the Ability Capsule, the ability doesn't really matter either.
And yeah, bad IVs and Guts.
But thanks to Hyper Training and the Ability Capsule, I have a fine Pokemon on my hands.
...Too bad Machamp's Shiny color isn't exactly...

Pokemon Moon: Alola Pokedex Complete (+First Shiny)

Since it is relatively easy to get the Charm item that increases the chances of a Shiny appearing, I wanted to get it before doing anything related to competitive breeding. So for what is probably the first time, I focused on completing the Pokedex.
And I thank anyone who traded with me to get the Sun exclusives.

Also, finally found my first Shiny in the game. Kinda lonely, since I found 2 in Pokemon X/Y before I even cleared the main story.

Pokemon Y Story Complete!

So yeah, finally completed the story for Pokemon Y. Now starting to gather items and breeding tools and starting to raise some Pokemon.
Thoughts below on the game. And my story mode team.

2nd Shiny of Pokemon XY!

Pretty lucky to get a 2nd Shiny so quickly. d(￣ ・￣)
Oh, and now that I have beat the Elite Four, I checked my Shiny Ralts's IVs and it sucked horribly.
This Pokemon isn't that good IV-wise either
Oh well.

Oh, and I think the Occult Mania trainer is one of the cuter mob trainers in the game. Yeah.
