Oh how time flies. Still working on my first playthrough of Megami Tensei 4: Final, BTW. I'll make a post on that when I finish.
Anyways...
The Monster Hunter hell of hells, trying to get the Small Crown and at least the Big Crown of all monsters for the achievements.
All luck. Sometimes it pops up right away, sometimes it never pops up... Oh the stress.
It is actually easy to get the Big Crown, since there is a size above that. But the Small Crown doesn't have a sub-small icon. You have to get the smallest types. What's worse is that even though the appearance is a Small, there is a chance you still don't get the Crown, just barely missing it by a few centimeters. Oh that feeling of despair when that happens...
Some of my memoes that I remember for monsters... Since I don't remember all of the English names, some might be their Japanese names because I'm too lazy to go into that heavy, heavy Wiki page to search them up..
Teostra:
As you can see from the image, when he is asleep, the curve between his head and his horns is a fair section below the G bomb's top. Note that there is a fair difference. Just slightly below the top will not work.
As for his King size, you'll know. So big, you wonder how you will dodge his charging...
Niblesnarf:
It's hard to see because of the pause screen, but the sand pile he is under will be smaller than a G bomb. This is for the Small size.
Daimyo Hermitaur:
The first image is one that is not small. Note the space I covered in black from the top of the G bomb to the top of his head before the two eyebrow-shaped lines (his forehead area?)
The second one is Small.
No more images, but I'll give as much advice as possible as I can remember.
Silver Rathalos:
Paralyze him with a trap and walk to his left foot. The Small size has his ankle part? going below the Hunter. I don't remember the exact details, but his left foot is a good measurement to use.
Arzuros:
His King size will be as big as his named version's normal size
Duramboros:
Similar to Rathalos, using his left foot while paralyzed might be the best way. Though I still had a hard time figuring out a specific measurement for his Small size.
Great Maccau:
Small size will be around the same size as Hunter. Normal is usually bigger. Though easy to kill, so you might want to just turn off your brain and slaughter as many as you can.
Iodrome:

Kecha Wacha:
When you first meet him and he looks at you, his eyes meet yours (usually his head is higher). If it does, it might be Small.
Najarala:
Do his quest where he starts off at the forest instead of the swamp. The area he is in has that tall pillar, so climb on it. When he slithers near it, compare his body with the pillar. If the pillar is taller than him, it might be Small.
Seregios:
First thing you will think is: "Dang, that is small". Using the SnS, I found it very easy to hit his tail.
I think paralyzing and feet measuring works for him too, except he always starts out on bumpy terrain...
Kirin:
When he is asleep, his laid-down body should be smaller than the half-way mark stripe thing on the G bomb. You can also look at his legs compared to the Hunter while he is standing, though I don't remember the exact details.
