Monster Hunter Rise: Thoughts and Impressions

Sorry about not posting for so long. I originally planned to buy Bravely Default 2, and that would have got me to write something about it, but I ended up kinda going "Meh" towards it, and ended up not buying it.  Pyra came out for Smash and that was awesome and literally the only Smash DLC I've ever bought and I got busy playing that. And then Monster Hunter came out.

Still planning to get Rune Factory 5. Not sure about Pokemon Snap. And that's all for now, really. Huh, kinda lonely. Where is Megami Tensei 5?! Etrian Odyssey?! You give us these teasers and no follow-up.

Also hopefully, as I am still playing Monster Hunter, I will finish the last two routes of Nukitashi before the localized version comes out, so I can say a few words. Yeah, this is an R18 visual novel game, so most people reading this probably doesn't care about that type of stuff.

While Monster Hunter isn't one of those games that has an "end", I have now played over 150 hours (actually 166, it seems), so I definitely think I can say something about it.

Also, I don't really think there are any spoilers. Not that I think Monster Hunter stories really have a story that could be ruined with spoilers, outside of maybe spinoff games.

Total Monster Hunter Playing Time!

In celebration(?) of the localized release of Monster Hunter XX, also now known as Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, I wanted to look back a little bit at how much I played that game.
Because it is a fun game, I'm actually kinda musing whether to buy the localized version and just play it all over again, Solo.
But I'm kinda busy with other games, so I probably should not...

Oh, and I stopped playing the game when Monster Hunter World came out, because I usually played multiplayer with a group of people on a Japanese board, but I felt that they would become too busy with that game to come over. They were good people. One of them was particularly good and influenced me into getting into the Brave Longsword.
And no, I do not play World. I usually ignore any game that isn't on a Nintendo console.

Monster Hunter XX: HR999 and Fasion Hunting

Finally reached HR999!

Oh, and the weapon use statistics at this point.

And I also am taking this opportunity to show off some of my fashion armor. Thanks to the armor fusing and all, I really had fun doing so.
Oh, but since there were so many, I did not bother to retake images. So some image might be a bit blurry. But as long as you can get the idea.
Also, I did not take images of armor sets that are completely from one armor set. (Though I still use some because they are cute/cool)

Monster Hunter XX: Highest Difficulty Deviant Solo-ing 2/3

There probably will not be a 3/3.
Since out of the remaining ones, there includes a couple or few Monsters that are extremely painful to fight against, especially by yourself. Yes, I'm looking at you, you stupid rolling machine and you, you and your tendency to stay in the air 90% of the time.

Anyways, 6 more down.
And a couple of thoughts on each.

Monster Hunter XX: Highest Difficulty Deviant Solo-ing 1/3

For the sake of it... and due to certain Monsters, I may not actually end up doing all of them, but I'm trying to go through the Highest Difficulty Deviants through Solo (with Palico, though they rarely survive long enough to matter).
For now, I went through 6 of the 18.

Images of the clear time and short thoughts below:
Note that I was not TA-ing and I was aiming at simply clearing the quest. So I added survival skills or played around a bit with other rarely used skills.

Monster Hunter Stories: Final Impressions, Thoughts

My thoughts on the game, upon finishing the main story. Of course, there is plenty to do after you beat the game, and Capcom provides new quests and updates (the DLC are free, BTW). I haven't really explored all of that, but so I can only touch a bit on that.

Oh, and last time I checked, the localized version should be coming out this year too. Since the language in the game is... "Monster Hunter language" (except for a few lines), I'm sure the dubbing was easy... (since there wasn't much need for new dubbing)

Monster Hunter XX: Achievements Completed! + Thoughts

It wasn't that hard this time, especially because I did not have that hard of a time finding the Miniature Crowns. Not sure if it is just because I was lucky or if it is easier to find them in G Quests.

Thoughts on MHXX below:

Monster Hunter XX: G-Rank new moves

Mainly notes for myself on the new moves monsters use in G-Rank. And for my convenience, I will be using the Japanese names, as I am playing the JP version and am not used to the English names.
(Updating as I encounter and realize the G-rank changes)

EDIT1: Added other G2 Monsters + G3 Monsters
EDIT2: Added other G3 + G4 + Named
EDIT3: Added Named Tetsucabra

New games! (´∀`)

Monster Hunter Stories
I had my eye on this game before, and I heard it was actually a pretty good game, but I never got the opportunity to buy it. Capcom was giving out 50% discounts on it to people who played Monster Hunter and well, if I could buy Stories for only $30, then at least I will buy it to play later.

Monster Hunter XX
Continuing where I left off...
When I first started up the game, I had trouble getting into the Downloads, but it looks like it was a server issue, not my internet, thankfully.

Monster Hunter X: Ready for MHXX

After a long time, I finally reached HR999. You get a model in MHXX that records your Hunter Rank from the file transfer and of course, that is a one-time only event, so I wanted to be at the highest possible rank when I transferred files.
Oh, and I haven't gotten MHXX yet.

Read More leads to images of my weapon use, and my Monster Hunt stats.

Game Update: Monster Hunter X, Megami Tensei IV Final

Just a random update on the games I'm currently playing.

For Monster Hunter X,
Finally finished getting all of the titles you get for defeating a monster a certain amount of times. You know, the "Defeated 20..." "Defeated 30..." types.
This is my current "Weapon Usage" data. Finally got past the 100 mark for Hammer.

And in Megami Tensei IV: Final, I am currently working on getting my entire party to Lv999.
A long and fairly dull process, though it is all for my waifus. (And a dog and a skeleton, but don't mind them too much)

Monster Hunter X: Size Hunting

Oh how time flies. Still working on my first playthrough of Megami Tensei 4: Final, BTW. I'll make a post on that when I finish.

Anyways...
The Monster Hunter hell of hells, trying to get the Small Crown and at least the Big Crown of all monsters for the achievements.
All luck. Sometimes it pops up right away, sometimes it never pops up... Oh the stress.
It is actually easy to get the Big Crown, since there is a size above that. But the Small Crown doesn't have a sub-small icon. You have to get the smallest types. What's worse is that even though the appearance is a Small, there is a chance you still don't get the Crown, just barely missing it by a few centimeters. Oh that feeling of despair when that happens...

Some of my memoes that I remember for monsters... Since I don't remember all of the English names, some might be their Japanese names because I'm too lazy to go into that heavy, heavy Wiki page to search them up..

Monster Hunter X: 100% Achievements

Phew... The Big and Small crowns really are difficult to get... But anyways, finally completed the achievements for MHX! Yes!

Some talk and images and stats after the "Read More"

Monster Hunter Cross: Various Changes of Monsters

One of those "I'm not dead" posts, since I haven't posted in a month. Just busy playing Monster Hunter and not really anything to say. Still waiting for info on Etrian Odyssey 5.
Anyways, I just wanted to write down some changes I've seen for monsters, be it from 4G -> Cross, Low Rank to High Rank, Ferocious.
Feriocious' speed change and changes only in the animation are not included.

Monster Hunter X: Solo Run Finished!

As in, defeating the HR7 boss that unlocks your Hunter Rank. Up until that point, every quest I cleared was cleared by myself, even the ones in the party hall. I prepared quite a bit for the final boss by raising my armor's defense to over 550.
So my armor choices throughout my runthrough...

Monster Hunter X: Well, that was the closest I've gotten to time-out quest failing...

11 seconds left. I didn't see Lagia drag his legs, but I realized there was only like 30 seconds left, so I chanced my last trap that I was saving for this moment and thankfully, he was weakened enough to be captured.
I had a bad feeling about fighting three berserk monsters in one quest, but yeah... Somehow managed to get through.

Monster Hunter X: First Thoughts on Weapons and Styles

Based off the demo
Also wanted to memo my thoughts, in case I forgot which styles I want to use in the game

Monster Hunter 4G/Ultimate: Ready for Cross!

After being busy with other games and with Cross coming out really soon, I came back to MH4G and my sub-file and cleared the final Village quest as well as unlock the G-special class SOLO. That's the big point. On my first playthrough, I did the G-special class unlocking in a party and did the final Village quest later on. Now without the best equipment possible and people to help me, it really feels like I have reached the goal by myself.

Oh, BTW, this sub-file is a Charge Blade-only file.
