Monster Hunter X: Solo Run Finished!

As in, defeating the HR7 boss that unlocks your Hunter Rank. Up until that point, every quest I cleared was cleared by myself, even the ones in the party hall. I prepared quite a bit for the final boss by raising my armor's defense to over 550.
So my armor choices throughout my runthrough...

Monster Hunter X: Well, that was the closest I've gotten to time-out quest failing...

11 seconds left. I didn't see Lagia drag his legs, but I realized there was only like 30 seconds left, so I chanced my last trap that I was saving for this moment and thankfully, he was weakened enough to be captured.
I had a bad feeling about fighting three berserk monsters in one quest, but yeah... Somehow managed to get through.

Toushin Toshi: Review

While Stella Glow is the last game Image Epoch created, Toushin Toshi is the last game they released (as Stella Glow ended up being released by Sega).
Now, this game was actually released almost 2 years ago. But after playing Stella Glow and learning about this game, I realized that if I don't take the opportunity to get this game now, it will be forever lost because Image Epoch's bankruptcy means the E-Shop no longer sells this AND there will be no longer any restocks. So I got it.
The Image Epoch president talked about how they spent quite the money creating the game, and after playing, I kind of see why.

BTW, this game is actually the remake of Toushin Toshi 2, by Alice Soft. However, the original is an eroge (R-18) AND was made 20 years ago, so there are quite a number of differences. I'll do some extra talking in a separate post.

New Games!! ( ﾟ∀ﾟ)

Two exclamation marks because two games. Well, to be exact, I got Toushin Toshi (right) a while back and have already started playing it, but for no particular reason, have not written anything about it. I have completed one route and will write some thoughts later.
Although it is probably hard to find, I definitely would suggest buying the game if you can get your hands on it. JP only, BTW.

And of course, Monster Hunter Cross. Managed to complete 1 route of Toushin Toshi just in time Monster Hunter getting delivered to me.

Stella Glow: Translated Song Lyrics, Stats

About stats:
-To give a good idea on how a character's stat will grow and how they compare to other characters
-I chose 45 because that is the highest level the game suggests at any one time

About multipliers:
-I attacked an enemy in various ways and used the basic normal attack as the base for how much damage a move would do (compared to it).
Magic and Physical attacks are two different things, but the same character is using both, so it should still help give an idea on the damage difference
-Does not take into account defense negation, critical hits
-I don't have the English names right now

About song lyrics:
-I translated them on my interpretation of the story/meaning of the songs
-The Japanese lyrics come from other people listening and writing down what they think is being said, meaning it could be wrong, though I have checked and chose what I thought was right
-Credit of most of the Japanese lyrics go to 2ch's thread for this game
-Translating anime -> Easy, translating light novels -> Meh, translating poetic works -> Gyaaaah!

Don't forget you can right click -> view images, etc. to expand them to their original sizes, because they will probably be too small without doing so.

Monster Hunter 4G/Ultimate: Ready for Cross!

After being busy with other games and with Cross coming out really soon, I came back to MH4G and my sub-file and cleared the final Village quest as well as unlock the G-special class SOLO. That's the big point. On my first playthrough, I did the G-special class unlocking in a party and did the final Village quest later on. Now without the best equipment possible and people to help me, it really feels like I have reached the goal by myself.

Oh, BTW, this sub-file is a Charge Blade-only file.

Stella Glow: Review

So finally finished the game, so my thoughts...
And before I start, let's just say I liked the game enough to pre-order the ENGLISH version for the pre-order bonuses. Not that I can play the actual cartridge because of region lock, but oh well, sacrifices are needed sometimes.

New Game! (￣ー￣)

I had to choose between Seventh Dragon (which came out yesterday) and Stella Glow, but I decided to choose Stella Glow. Seventh Dragon looked low-budget, so I have worries about it, but Stella Glow has gotten pretty good reviews everywhere. Also, the art is pretty. (Which is why I also bought the wallpaper for the 3DS as shown below.

The only unfortunate note is that the illustrator for this game announced his retirement(?) from working as an illustrator, though he continues as an individual artist, it seems.
EDIT: Or perhaps he came out of retirement, according to his profile. (?)

On a brighter note, Atlus will be bringing Stella Glow to the US (really always loved their willingness to bring these type of little-known, non-mainstream games). Visit the home page:

Fire Emblem Fates: Final Review

So after playing the game on Lunatic as well as normal several times, there are all of my thoughts on all of the routes.

Smash Bros. for WiiU: Videos

In preparation for the update to 1.1.1, I finally decided to create a youtube account so I could upload videos from the WiiU directly to it.
The only problem is that longer videos can't be uploaded, so I've decided to just use the "Highlight" option. Which sucks, but better than nothing, I guess.
I actually was not able to get that many 1.1.0 videos onto it before I ran out of time, but I will try to upload more often now that I have got everything set up.

I can't fly all the way to New York to visit his temporary memorial there, so I'll do it here...


As an avid video gamer, I always imagined what the video game industry would be like many years from now. I wondered what the video game industry would be like after Iwata retired. But in that imagination of mine, I was already past the climax of my life and kinda just an older man, living through the rest of my life. Yet I am still young. Yet now the video game industry has lost one of its most brilliant leaders. A man who was not only close to video game fans, but was a programmer himself. Could run a business. Could present better than any of his comparisons. It has been many years since I really tried drawing and I've never written Japanese, but in memory...

Thank you very much, Iwata-san! For all the joy you brought us!
We'll miss you and if afterlife exists, please watch over Nintendo and the rest of the video game industry!

Fire Emblem: Fates - Nohr Route (Hard Difficulty) complete! + short Review

Some story spoilers alert for my thoughts, but I'll go ahead and just say this...

That said, I got it on the first day and just have been too busy to write a post.
As for the game, it is the expected.

And yeah, chose the Dark side first. Because they have normal classes instead of all of those weird... Eastern classes.

Bravely Second: End Layer review

Finally finished the game! And so, a bit of talk about it. I'll try to put the spoilers at the very bottom after a gap and warning, so I don't accidentally spoil anything. At the least, I'll try my best?

Fufufu... Finally bought it...!

Well actually, I'm a bit late to report it and got it for a small bit of time.
I decided that since my 3DS's controls were no longer 100% efficient for Smash Bros (especially around the down-smash/tilts), and because Splatoon's bundle pack was coming out and I had interest in it, I bought it along with Smash Bros WiiU!
Told ya' I'd get it eventually, hahaha

New Game! And yeah, gave up on Mystery Dungeon

So yeah, I realized it would be way too much stress to beat Etrian Odyssey and the Mystery Dungeon, so I went ahead and got Bravely Second.

 As for why I gave up on Mystery Dungeon, it gets a bit long...

That said, it is more of a Mystery Dungeon game than an Etrian Odyssey game, so I wouldn't recommend it if those type of games are not to your liking.

Etrian Odyssey Untold 2: Completed

I'll make a post later on it, but I was able to complete the medals just in time!
As for Stratus 6, I'll leave that as a secret to get to. Though as far as the hidden boss (Stratus 6 boss) goes, because of his healing move and option parts, it is probably best to One-Turn Kill him. Fighting him normally takes at least 20 turns... on Picnic!

Game Sales: About Posts...

I feel that these type of posts are kinda... meh? Kind of gets in the way of my posts on actual games, yet provides little advantage. I guess I can make some comparisons, but there really isn't any use, so when I get the free time, I'm gonna move all of my past posts on Sales backwards, so that my game posts are all together. Monster Hunter 4G: My Current Best Excavated Weapons

Just some screenshots of my best excavated weapons so far. I have others too, but I chose some main ones to pickup on.

Monster Hunter 4G/4 Ultimate Expedition Result Calculator

Practicing on Java applets again and finished this little project. It contains two tabs, one where you insert the 5 monsters that appeared in the exploration and it gives you all of the possibilities, and another one where you can search for the monsters you need to defeat in order to get a certain result you want. It's pretty simple, but I think it can get the job done.
Keep in mind that if out of the 5 monsters you defeat, if there is one that appeared more than once, they only act as one monster. So even if you defeat two Deviljhos, you will never get a Deviljho x 2 quest from those two Deviljhos. You will get 2 quests, one for each monster, but the content will be chosen from only one Deviljho. So you can get Deviljho x 1, but not x 2.

I'm not too up-to-date on the Java security issues and all, but I think that if your Java is too updated, there is no chance it will allow you to open the Applet. You need to lower your security to Medium, it seems? But newer releases erased the Medium option...
Maybe I should turn it into Javascript, though that will take some time...I guess future projects should be in Javascript or something.

Etrian Odyssey Untold 2: Diary G

As an improvement? from Etrian Odyssey Untold 1, you can visit this dungeon even in Classic mode, so I have heard.

Ending

Just like in Untold 1, you can only enter certain parts of the dungeon as you progress through the main dungeons. The final boss of the story mode is fought here. (You don't fight the hidden boss like in Untold 1)

On a random note, this is probably the 2nd time I've seen a game use Ginnungagap.

 Finally beat the main story and am exploring the 6th Stratos.
 So anyways, the original final boss and his castle. Gimmick can get annoying, but you better start to like it quickly, because there is so much of it.

6 did 24,000
All three above were on the PSP. Not sure what happened to Bros, but the series had been decreasing each game. 6 did slightly better than Bros. So fair results?
